2016 is not going well so far. Lots of bad news = lots of stress. Details to follow in a few years time when everything sorts itself out (hopefully).
So I am feeling like this (and sorry, I don’t know who to credit, I found this whilst looking around):-
In the meantime, I am finding soul sustenance from walks in the park. Daily the weather changes to produce very different scenes. Just look at the park last weekend:-
and then two days later:-
My daughter is in Amsterdam for the weekend, back this evening so looking forward to hearing all about it. She stayed on a houseboat rented through Air BnB that looked incredible. She’s going to be horrified to hear that yet again a group of friends have been the target of a burglary at their house near university. This is a shocking state of affairs and something needs to be done. It is clear that students in certain houses get targetted year on year, again and again. They are not told to be wary, or about previous break-ins by their landlords or agents AND THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. This time only two of the girls were staying in the house, but out for the evening. The rest had gone home for the weekend. It’s scary for them and unsafe and I think landlords should be made to not only increase the levels of security they provide, but to put cameras up to protect not only the students, but all their property. They have to pay a huge amount of rent – for many more months than they need to and they should get more for their money. Especially when it comes to security. They have been left, once again fearful and upset and this should not be what their university experience is all about. Apparently not only do they generally lose laptops, phones, ipads and wallets, but they bring in big suitcases so that they can also steal their trainers and clothes. This needs to stop.
Rant over.
Going now.
