“Whether we regard our situation as heaven or as hell depends on our perception”.
I agree with that one. Out of adversity, very often you can find lots of positive effects – and bloody hell do I have a lot to be hugely thankful for.
Or in the words of Shakespeare:
“There is a tide in the affairs of men,
Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune”.
We all have a choice – not obviously in what gets chucked our way, but in the way we opt to deal with life.
How appropriate then to discuss the merits of being newly single. Instead of feeling a little bit miserable about being on my own I have decided to look at my situation in a wholly different light.
REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL (ABOUT BEING SINGLE). PART 1
1. Nobody can tell me what to do.
2. I can find peace (with difficulty, admittedly with three loud children in the house).
3. I can have my friends round when I want.
4. I can go wherever I want and see whoever I want (within reason).
5. I can choose.
6. I can live in an atmosphere of calm because there is nobody (apart from 3 children) to argue with.
7. I can be myself.
8. I can play my own music
9. I can eat whatever I want
10. I don’t have to justify myself to anyone or feel responsible for somebody else’s behaviour.
So you see? It’s really not that bad after all.
