I’m not entirely sure why I’m saying that, but I’m quite sure that it needs to be said.

OK the markets might be reassured and interest rates should be lower BUT will it all lead to a double dip recession? We now have 20% VAT and benefit cuts for all.

AND WHAT does “child benefit has been frozen for three years” mean?

That we can defrost it in three years time? Presumably that it remains the same for the next three years.

    welll..l sat there thinking, with my new found singlemum-dm i mind….that this iwll really make a difference to me now…usually its husbands tax thats affected and not much else to be homnst..

    this time.child benefit frozen, well at least its not cut, so stays the same for 3 yrs..ok l can live with that..

    council tax frozen..that too thank you!

    increase of £1000 on tax allowance, whihc in essence gives us back that which wa staken away when we lost 20% rate…thanks

    childtax credit…hold your breath saz….only affects the over £40K pa families….well thats not me anymore…

    and..as a public sector worker, my pay is frozen for 3 years…BUT as am under the £18K wire will get £250 pa rise anyway..thanks…

    so ok vat up 2.5% so that will affect retail prices…..but then choose carefully….

    larger incomes hit…..as expected….
    the lower paid and the pensioners looked after….as it should be…..
