Really, my three kids reports could not be more different. I don’t know why I’m surprised – my reports generally said things like “L is very good at drinking her milk” (BRING BACK THE BLOODY MILK IN TEENY WEENY BOTTLES OR EVEN CARTONS) whilst one brother got “he is definitely going to be a doctor or a Nuclear Physicist and the other got “he is pretty good with his hands and will probably go far”.
Anyway.
Snippets from my 18 year old son’s report that are worth noting. Won’t mention other two reports as a little more typical of what you normally see – all the usual “could try harder” sort of stuff.
“Clearly made the most of everything this school has to offer. Exciting times ahead”
Biology:
“He is now a first rate biologist, which is something that neither he, nor I, would have predicted 4 years ago! I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching him, he is a charming young man who always brings his best to everything he does and I am sure he is capable of great things. I wish him all the very best for the future and thank him for being so much fun to have in the classroom. I still have your number if I need some private tutoring in Biology…
Mathemtatics:
“It has been great to have him in the group, he has come a long way and it has been brilliant to be able to combine his mathematical and musical talents, particularly earlier in the year when he wrote a Maths song and performed it for the group. I still hope he’ll make me a CD of this when he has time in the summer. He also gave an outstanding performance in assembly where we decided that he was even better than the performer who had actually written the song. Keep in touch next year, whether by CD or email!”
A MATHS SONG??? WTF? Must get him to sing it to me. Perhaps I’ll record it if it’s as good as his maths tutor says.
Anyway – you see? Extraordinary words. Clearly adopted.
