I was delighted to be offered a kimono from the ethical brand “Verry Kerry” to review – mainly because the designer is from my spiritual home of Zambia, but also because I am prone to wandering around in thick, boring, towelling dressing gowns that are too hot for summer and very uninteresting.

Kerry was brought up in Zambia and loved the fact that despite obvious hardships, they persisted in wearing colourful and exciting prints that continue to inspire her. When she first travelled to India, she found the same passion for colour and fabric in the work of ethical manufacturers, who combine soft fabrics with comfortable, practical and timeless shapes to create beautiful pieces.
By working with manufacturers that pay 1.5 times the average salaries, as well as upcycling NGO “Green The Gap”, they are able to help support many communities and fulfil the ultimate purpose of the brand: help put a smile on people’s faces.
