Thank you to my anonymous commenter for prompting me to book an urgent Dr’s appointment for my blurry eyed son. However, I am now terrified. We’ve just been to the GP and he could only read the first three lines of the eye test, even though the letters were about the same size as the wall. She’s done a urine sample and taken his blood pressure and thats all fine, so I think that rules out diabetes, but she was so concerned about how quickly his vision had deteriorated that she called the hospital immediately and asked for him to be seen by an eye specialist TONIGHT. Now obviously I am assuming that my son has a brain tumour. We’re going in a minute, once I’ve rearranged 50 million other things and organised the other two children. Back soon, I hope.

October 16, 2008dont panic….that is key..I know its hard not to think the worst…but reasonably…the odds are that all is well and he just ahs bad eyesight..this coming form a woman that has the worst distance and near sight youre ever likely to ‘see’.

ps screw ney years, always hated it…got oa spa and treat yourself for the day, then get a great film and chocolate, watch in bed, youll be FINE….every new year I know has been shit and anticlimactic, in EVERY WAY!!!LOL

October 16, 2008Thank you so much every one – especially you Tanvi who must know about this stuff intimately for your kind offer of help….will watch him for a while and see, but whilst we were waiting in reception he was playing Solitaire on my phone – “I’m so good at this game mum” he said. Those cards are the teeniest weeniest things ever and when I said “oh thats great, you can see again” he said, “no he was really struggling and couldn’t make out any of the numbers” Hmmm. Don’t want to dismiss his claims either though. Lx
