Just out of interest – how come there are so many websites claiming proudly to be the best fake ID card companies out there – one since 1996. Why are they allowed to be trading? Is this not completely illegal? I know they get away with it by calling them “Novelty cards”…..but that’s a complete joke.
It seems to me that part of the culture of underage drinking so prevalent in the UK is because all the kids have fake ID cards of some sort whether it is a driving license or a moped license or a student card and can buy and/or get into pubs and clubs underage without much trouble these days. It’s cool to have fake ID and from what I can see it appears to have become the norm.
Another concern is that teenagers are sending in their details in order to get the card not only a photograph, but somebody’s credit card details to pay for the cards AND their (or some other mates) address to send them.
Isn’t anybody else a little worried about all this? Is this happening anywhere else in the world? US?? Bet you wouldn’t bloody get away with it there.
PS – obviously nobody I know personally has got them….I’m just saying…..when I tried to get into a club the other day with my fake ID it looked like lots of the younger kids who I could tell should be in bed asleep were using them….(sidles off mildly worried about implications of writing about such things).

November 7, 2011I did some research on this a few months back and the interesting thing over here is that there’s a far bigger penalty for falsifying documents in order to drink under 21, (the age here) than if you actually get caught drink/driving. While I think there should be penalties for getting a fake ID, it shouldn’t be seen as more serious than actually getting behind the wheel after a few. Bloody typical though. Most people I know don’t think twice about drinking and driving.

November 7, 2011Fake ID’s have been around for years. I know someone who used to make them until he got caught. Have to say, they never worked for us. In fact to get around the underage problem, the pubs just used to increase the age limit which obviously encouraged the older crowd to make it their regular. It also meant that even we realised that we couldn’t get away with trying to look 21.

November 7, 2011My Dad’s attitude to my underage drinking was, fine go ahead and do it but you’re responsible for getting yourself home and don’t call me if you get caught (he’s a bobby). The idea being that if you are old enough to drink then you should deal with the consequences (I guess his job was also a factor…). Seemed to work pretty well since I knew he wouldn’t be happy if I did wake him up and get him to drive 40mins to the town where I was, and I always made sure that I did get the last train home, else I was screwed.

November 7, 2011It might possibly have taken ages to create a good copy of my daughter’s bus pass so I wouldn’t have to pay to replace it when she loses it should I have wanted to have done that, if I’d have known there was a website supplying the service I might have been able to do a cost compare, should I have possibly have thought it might be a more than theorical possibility to do so.
