Another few weeks have passed and there is absolutely nothing to report. We haven’t yet ventured very far away from home, but a number of my friends have made it to Italy, France, Spain, Greece….everything seems to be moving quite fast. Lets hope it stays that way. Certainly we are now looking at Lives Vs Livelihoods as people start getting back to work and trying to earn a living again.
But the shops? They are so quiet, clearly not a huge percentage of consumers are wanting to venture back into them and when masks are introduced next week, I worry that this will add a further deterrent. It’s not a particularly enjoyable experience…trying to choose makeup when there is absolutely nothing to pick up and try is just weird. Nothing to look at and people standing around in masks ready to help you, but you have to buy before you try. Might as well order it all online. I guess this pandemic may just have increased the slow demise of the high street.
We’ve been busy with some lockdown birthdays – my youngest and naughtiest child’s 20th birthday and the end of teenagers for me:-
And the annual photo I always take of the three kids on his birthday:-
My friend’s 60th:-
I’ve caught up with a few other friends who until now haven’t been out at all…everyone is behaving so differently. Yet in London now it is only around 1 in 3,500 of us who have Covid-19, and hopefully this will continue to drop.
My brother had to have a big operation last week, thankfully he’s now on the mend. It’s complicated having to self-isolate pre an op – as does the whole family and my blood donation got cancelled owing to the virus last week – which is strange, because surely they still need blood?
I’m finally off to see my mother this week who is going marginally stir crazy…it’s the mental health issues that doctors are seeing more of in A & E at the moment. A huge worry.
Me last week doing my reading for wildlife:-
And the usual deer photos:-
