I’ve dropped everything. Rearranged my week. Left the kids behind with friends holding the fort. We’ve all dropped everything, my two brothers and I. I arrived on the train very late last night to be with my father who is slowing down now.
I’m just pleased we are all together and that he is at home. In many ways it feels quite peaceful and surreal. Very, very sad obviously, but he is in no pain and is calm.
It means a lot to him that we are all here. Supporting each other and especially my mother. “I feel very privileged” he said last night.
Thats what it’s all about in the end isn’t it?
Family.
