I’m really not sure I like that “Find My Friend’s” app – my daughter uses it far more than I do – mostly to stalk me….she texts regularly to say “what are you doing in bla when you should be in bla???” it makes me feel like a naughty child. It never really occurs to me to use it on her because I generally believe what she tells me – maybe I should…but do you know, I talked to an male adult (I know, rare in itself these days) friend of a friend the other day and he confessed to not only downloading the app on his daughter’s phone so he would know where she was but also on to his wife’s phone (without her knowledge) which seems to me an awful thing to do. Like he doesn’t trust her. I would hate that. In fact is it any worse that hiring a private detective to snoop? (cheaper mind you).
There are a few more apps that The Evening Standard have outlined in the paper this evening to keep in touch with your friends – What3words creates a new co-ordinates system that gives every 3×3 square miles of the globe a unique three word code which sounds quite cool. Then there is Glympse where you can share your location and move around in real time as you do.
