Happy Good Friday to you all. It is the perfect weather. The kids are in the pool. Everything is lovely and chilled. I SO want to come and live here again. My friends are looking amazing. The lifestyle suits them so well – even the dog looks 100 times better than she did in London. All sleek and shiny.
I can see now why Australia make it so difficult to get in to the country. Otherwise everybody would come and refuse to leave. I have some friends who have lived here five years now, just on the outskirts of Sydney. They sold their house in London and built a new one here. Their three kids are in school and they have tried to make several businesses work. They are now battling to stay. Their visa has run out and the powers that be have ruled that they have not made enough of their business….they are at this stage refusing to leave. They would lose everything. They wouldn’t be able to buy another house in London now. Their case is now waiting to go in front of the Federal Court. It’s all very serious and scary for them.
My daughter has now decided that she wants to go to Uni here rather than in the US (wishful thinking all round, but hey). She loves the lifestyle but also she said “well, the point is that you can drink and drive at a far more reasonable age – in the US I’d have to wait until I was 21 before I could drink. That’s ridiculous”.
Priorities.
Important.
Off to the beach to see if anything is open…..Melbourne seems to be taking their religious holiday very seriously. No licence today to sell any alcohol.
