OH DEAR:-

For lots of different reasons.

Namely that I should have started organising Christmas before now. I can barely even get into my bedroom for unwrapped presents and I have made a really big mistake. I offered to sort out the stockings for all the children – SIX CHILDREN that is. You have no idea how much rubbish I’ve had to waste my money on to fill six sacks with presents. Tempting to buy them all watermelon’s and pineapples and other HUGE things that will fill up the spaces. Still, the good news is that BB has taken over chef duties so I have not had to worry about any of it. How lovely is that.

We are having our big Christmas meal tonight. Builder Bloke is ecstatic because he’s got his children to wake up with for the first time in five years. My mother is here and brother coming over shortly. It will be very hard to not really, really miss my father, but there we go. Can’t do anything about that. I know the toast to absent friends is going to be very difficult.

Anyway. I haven’t sent any Christmas cards again this year. Apologies all round.

All that is left to be said is HAPPY CHRISTMAS to all you lovely people out there. I hope it’s a good one XXX.

Let the good times rule! How about plowing through all the twelve days? You get to choose the Lord of Misrule and all. In other (borrowed) words:
The feast was an unruly event, involving much drinking, revelry and role reversal. The Lord of Misrule, normally a commoner with a reputation of knowing how to enjoy himself, was selected to direct the entertainment.
Those Tudor people took partying extremely seriously. Cheers to that and Merry Christmas!
