Happy Valentine’s Day to all you gorgeous people out there. Unsurprisingly, Valentine’s Day isn’t panning out quite like I’d hoped so far.

Woke at 8am (it’s half term so that’s a lie-in). Came downstairs to find I was banned from the kitchen whilst my youngest child was busy printing me off a card from the computer. Took my mother a cup of tea (I repeat – took my mother a cup of tea – my mother is still with me) – “Happy Valentine’s Day” she said “how many cards have you had this morning?” = “the post hasn’t arrived yet SO NOOOOOONE YET, but I’m going to have to take all the stuff I need for the day when I go and teach because I probably won’t be able to get back in through the door after that” I said…..ha ha. How we laughed.

My youngest child has written me the most gorgeous card – all about being the best mum in the world and that is just lovely – almost makes up for not having a card from a significant other or indeed a grown-up of any sort….and I don’t mean my oldest son who won’t get up until after lunch, will then quickly rush down to the local corner shop to buy me a Freddo chocolate bar and give me a quick kiss before going off to work.

So no other plans apart from teaching today. My daughter is off out for dinner with a group of girlfriends this evening – she thought sitting with her best friends in Wagammama’s all night long would be amusing when the entire rest of the world are sitting in couples. Good for her…I wonder if she’ll mind if I go with her.

Loved the window of a local restaurant yesterday – all festooned with Valentine’s messages from customers:-

and close up I even found one that was pretty appropriate for me:-

Your little one does sound adorable. I got a Valentine from my younger teen – nearly fell over backwards as she is in full-on hormonal permasulk most of the time x
