One of the most enjoyable parts of our trip to Costa Brava was taking part in an Instagram meet-up and competition – #instaCadaques was organised by the local community and involved the mayor. It probably helps, when you’re thinking about running a competition to choose a gorgeous location and add a touch of blue sky. Cadaques, was one of the most gorgeous harbours I have ever seen. That afternoon we got to tour around Dali’s house. I am saving that one for a separate post – stunning.

A perfect setting for an extremely enjoyable morning out and about. We were given a tour of Cadaques and invited to upload as many photographs as we wanted to the tourism website. The success of the competitions in Costa Brava is growing – with each region generally attracting a greater number of “Instagrammers” each time.

It’s an easy thing to set up – choose a venue:-

I was curious to see what the general demographic was for a group meet up, but very hard to pin down – the beauty of such accessible photography is that you only need a smart phone and preferably a few apps to enhance the pictures. Young and old joined in together – they all looked pretty cool to me:-
