I came second in the “Best Of Blog 07” competition which I’m really, really pleased about. My friends cannot believe it – one said this morning “of all the categories I would have put you in “Best Mommy Blog” would not have been one of them – you’re rubbish – you don’t make fairy cakes or nativity play outfits, you shine laser beams into other peoples houses. How on earth did you get on that list?”. She’s right of course. I couldn’t answer the question….and just to confirm what she said, here was a text I received earlier today from a friend who works in a hospital:-
“Whatever or however bad your day is today, it could be worse…there’s a lady in A & E with a vibrating egg stuck up her fanny”.
I now reaslise it is easier than I thought to increase my exposure in cyberspace – bollocks to writing about my life in the suburbs and children and stuff – I got 300 more readers yesterday just because I wrote about Bruce Springsteen!! That is the way forward. I am going to forget about my gap year. Instead I am going to become a Bruce groupie and follow him around the world. My blog would soon be world famous….

June 2, 2008I know. HOW embarrassing…what is a vibrating egg anyway? (I don’t want the obvious, “it’s an egg that vibrates”…I want to know WHY it would vibrate and what it’s appropriate use would be when it isn’t otherwise engaged…). Oh dear. Poor woman.
