NO BLOGGING FOR THREE DAYS!! What has become of me? I’ve had comments and emails asking if everything is OK …. apologies for any concern caused.
Yes thanks. Everything is OK. I’ve been away. On a “mini break” I suppose you would call it. Friday to Tuesday am. My children were with their father for the bank holiday weekend and I got whisked away (more like lumberjacked away) for the weekend – to Portugal, where it was hot and lovely.
We had the most lovely weekend. I had no access to a computer and not much of a compulsion to find one either I have to say. It was great to get away for a minute without any children.
One evening, whilst we had dinner, this was our view:-
I have been with my forbidden fruit. We decided to get away for a weekend away to discuss our situation. Look at our options. Decide what to do. It’s a nightmare. It’s wonderful. It’s complicated. But since Christmas I have had the time to review the situation and take stock. It’s been a long old rocky road and in that time, I’ve been rubbish. I stopped seeing him for obvious reasons (his X is about to marry my X) but clearly I hadn’t got him out of my system and felt very bad that he was the one who was ultimately left out in the cold. His children are now living with my X, I had dumped him, he had no work and a lot of pressure all round. I suddenly felt really guilty. I really hurt him. He always said he knew I’d be back and that he’d wait for me (although he was rapidly going off that idea), but still, even with the compicated scenario that we are in (that I had to escape from) I realised that I had been a completely crap friend who had dropped him when the going got tough. During that time I managed to hurt someone unintentionally who didn’t deserve it. Lost my way. Flew off to see my friend the other side of the world in an attempt to find some clarity and it worked….
I realised whilst there that I missed my best friend. LIfe just wasn’t quite the same without him.
Builder Bloke is back.
