I am feeling sick. A level results are out tomorrow and my daughter is now super nervous about them, as are all her friends. Decisions made from the results they get tomorrow will affect the course of their whole lives and it upsets me that this has to be the case.

That said, given what’s been going on around our neck of the woods recently, I hope she and a whole host of others will manage to keep things in perspective and be thankful for whatever they get and if it means doing something else? Then know that this will becoming one of the significant turning points in your life that will mould you into the person you become. If you don’t get to be the doctor, or the lawyer or the film maker and you take a gap year instead, or do a different degree at a different university – then your life course will indeed be different. But not any worse. Possibly better. The people you will meet, the places you will go will be different – but those people will potentially become your life long friends that you might not have ever met if you’d stuck to plan A.

I am always up for Plan B. I think it makes you a better person to have a few failures and curve balls thrown at you. Life can be shit sometimes, but it’s not about the falling over, it’s about the getting up again, brushing yourself off and turning in a different direction.

SO. All I can say at this stage is good luck to everyone who is having to go to school at 8am tomorrow or picking up the results online – try not to be too disappointed because life doesn’t always pan out the way you think it will. Just be thankful for what you’ve got and know that whatever choices are left open to you will be the right ones for you.

Big hugs to all.

This message (above) I love – I think it says everything you need to know about life.
