I met an extraordinary woman the other day. One who lives her life very differently to mine. Takes what she puts into her body very seriously – proper “body is a temple” rather than “body is a pub” mentality. She is big into raw food and what she told us was fascinating. I’m waiting to get some more information from her before I share, but in the meantime, she sent me this quote about The Spiritual Warrier (whoever that is) and why we tend to find reasons and excuses not to do something:-

The Spiritual Warrior lives life spontaneously, constantly letting go. The ordinary person wants to justify things. They want recognition for what they accomplish, and they want to blame someone for what doesn’t go right. If they can’t find a reason, they will make a reason.

So here’s the key: Forget your reasons; they will always be perfect. They don’t mean anything. Reasons keep us in a contracted state. You do not need to justify your life. Just live. Be spontaneous and do what your heart prompts you to do. You do not have to wait for numerous things to fall into place in order to relax. Just relax. How simple that is, and yet we won’t do it…because we have all the reasons not to.

Wonderful message and all, but be careful. Raw food can be delicious and satisfying, but it’s a fad that should not be taken too seriously. It might work OK in California for people who have time to grow their own food, but otherwise it is kind of dangerous. I tried it myself for six months and ended up seriously depleted in vitamin B12. When I got off it, I gained the weight I’d lost back and I to this day I can’t help wondering whether the effects of the whole adventure had something to do with my troubles later on.
