Kids are away and I am home alone. I hate it. All this silence. Goodness knows what I will be like when they’ve all left home – it’s just TOO quiet and WAY too tidy.
It’s all very well being told by advice coach Jayne Morris that having a cluttered environment reflects a cluttered mind and that the way to clear the mind is to throw unwanted items away in order to free your internal world. Same applies to your desk – tidy it up and you will be more successful. “Tidy house, Tidy mind” she says.
Well I disagree. It’s not all about de-cluttering your life. My house is immaculate and will remain so all week because my children aren’t here. It doesn’t feel quite right having everything still in the same place when I get home.
My mantra is more “Messy House, Happy Soul”.
In addition, Einstein said something equally telling:-
“If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”
I have SO many blog posts to write. They’re all piling up. I just don’t have time. So here are my next few blog posts in a sentence, to save time.
1. Oscar Pistorius. What a tragedy. What happened? Steroids? Accident? A case of building up our sporting heroes to such a degree that they think they are super human? Like Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong and of course the closest resemblance thus far? OJ Simpson. We build them up too high and give them brand names to represent. Is the game up for the fantasy of the athlete as a role model/super hero?
2. Don’t eat British meat, Australia tells it’s citizens….I don’t blame them – but apparently, in Australia, you can’t even give blood if you were in the UK during the mad cow outbreak. So they’re taking it very seriously.
3. Nope. I can’t do it here. Got to write a post about divorce. About how I have finally come to terms with the fact that I am probably better at divorce than I am at marriage. We have a commune running during the week for the kids with the help of my friend. But. I’m not going to post about that this week because they’re not here and it’s too quiet. I’ll show you photos next week of the chaos and will probably wonder what on earth I was thinking of and why I missed it!
