What are you all doing for Mother’s Day? Do you think Mother’s Day should be about spending the day with your mother or your children if at all possible or about being totally selfish and having a pampering day at the spa all by yourself??
I am in two minds about this. Mainly because this year I don’t have my children on Sunday and it’s a lot easier to try and put a positive spin on this rather sad state of affairs instead of feel sorry for myself or make a fuss. It’s their father’s weekend and although I did make a request to have them back by lunchtime, I think they had plans and to be fair, when he doesn’t get to see them very often it seemed a little unreasonable of me to insist. Or sulk.
So I’m not going to. I’m going to do other things. Not sure what yet. After all – every day should be Mother’s Day, or Father’s Day or Children’s Day or Grandma’s Day really, shouldn’t it?

March 16, 2012I don’t have my boys this weekend either. Their father thinks that this is fortunate as, being mother’s day, he wants to take them to see his mother. And I wonder why I left him.
