Oh dear. Sorry. I know that apart from my cousin in Canada, ALL the advice I received from you regarding the post I wrote yesterday was to avoid any response AT ALL COSTS to the three page email.
However, I did reply.
I only sent a teeny weeny response. I decided that I didn’t want to be accused of not giving a shit about all the children involved. I simply told her that she should be discussing her issues with BB and not me, just as I discuss my concerns with my X. I also suggested that it was pointless to compare the parenting skills of both men – they couldn’t be more different. I said that the main concern for all of us was with our six children and that must be remembered. I closed by saying that I would do what I can to help improve her communication with BB and that perhaps they should go out for a drink to discuss all their issues.
Thats all I wrote. I didn’t get involved in any of the detail which I’m very proud of – it was very tempting…..
Anyway, having sent it, my kids then came home and I heard all about the huge argument my daughter had with her earlier in the day. Good grief. That didn’t take long.
What a mess.

October 18, 2010OK, well I suppose that wasn’t too bad. You took the high road and hopefully she will desist with the childish antics. So….what was the big argument about.

October 19, 2010You don’t mean the argument was about your response to her e-mail?

October 19, 2010No, she wasn’t aware of my response then – apparently it started because she couldn’t bear her staring at her across the table! Felt she was being rude! It got worse and my daughter is very upset. Don’t suppose it’s ever easy finding a way to get on with a step daughter…..Lx

October 19, 2010Was your X present when the argument kicked off? Did he defend your daughter? Did the boys get invovled too? She sounds absolutely vile, please try and keep your distance for your own sanity x

October 19, 2010It really sounds as if this new marriage is having problems and the discontent shown by the two of them is spilling over into all other areas of their life.

October 19, 2010well, you would think they’d just be getting on with being happy about pretty much everything this early into married life…..not a great start. Lx
