My cousin from Canada is in town. It’s been great having her to stay. We went, with some friends last night to Dabbous – a very sought after Soho restaurant – very unusual and interesting food and uber cool venue (separate post with photos to follow).

Her main priority though was to spend time with our respective Grandmother – the one who is now 99. NINETY NINE!! Can you believe it. She is in a home. She has dementia. We went for tea. She doesn’t know who we are. She is tiny. To be honest, you can’t believe that her little gorgeous body is still happy to support her. She spent a lot of time staring at the two of us and asking if I was the hairdresser of my cousin. There were flashes of momentary recognition we decided – here and there….she asked us where we were staying, how we were, what we were going to do next and most importantly suggested that we should avoid, at all costs going to visit any old people whilst we were out and about – “I have been having to visit a few old people recently and they are soooo boring – they have nothing to say – every time I go I have to shut myself into a little box, because frankly I have nothing to say and no interest” …..
