So this time, I really don’t think Johnson is going to manage to avoid the shit hitting the fan. “Partygate” has emerged and this time the invitation was sent by his principal private secretary, Martin Reynolds to apparently around 100 people. Which suggests that not only did Boris know about it, but he was probably there. He’s avoiding having to answer that question at present, but I’m sure it won’t be long before he has to answer the question honestly. The gathering was hosted on a day in May last year when the rest of the governments minions were only allowed to see only one other person outside, whilst at least 2m apart.
The arrogance and hypocrisy is astounding and I truly believe, given how many people were genuinely suffering then for obvious reasons that he is not going to be forgiven this time. People who were dying alone, who couldn’t give their family the funerals they deserved, who couldn’t see family or friends, who were fined for having parties or picnicking in the park.
I’m sure the leak has something to do with Dominic Cummings who seems to be slowly and inevitably bringing him down as perhaps he threatened to do when he left…he is certainly on a mission. But even if it’s not Cummings, BJ seems to have made rather a lot of enemies of late, so it could be any number of people. And he didn’t even have the decency to stand up and be counted in the Commons this afternoon, instead, sending a junior minister to deal with the emotional MP’s. Disgraceful. Finally his true colours are emerging.
