I was at a meeting the other day when my blog friend who was doing a presentation mentioned the word “Pintarest”. I secretly wrote it down. I had no idea what she was talking about and after the meeting it seemed I wasn’t the only one. However, since then I having stopped reading or hearing about it.
It’s an online noticeboard designed to graphically sum up all that you like….so what do you think? Is it here to stay? I can’t think what to stick on my board so haven’t got involved yet. To be honest I’m really not sure I have time to add yet another social networking tool to my repertoire.
Apparently Pinterest has been around for a couple of years, a place with a largely female and American audience, where people share ideas on design, fashion, travel, books – or anything else you can think of – by “pinning” photos to their various boards. However, over the past few weeks, it has suddenly become the hottest property on the web. In its monthly report on web activity, the ratings firm Comscore revealed that Pinterest was the third fastest growing site in the United States, with its audience rising from 7.5 million unique visitors in December to 11.7 million in January.
Guess it’s going to be massively appealing to advertisers.

February 21, 2012I have not been able to figure this site out. Is it just pictures of things? I want the recipe or the instructions for the idea or something! But, to be honest, I have no idea how Twitter works either, so I am probably not a good gauge of such things. As always, love your posts!

February 21, 2012Pinterest is basically a virtual bulletin board. Instead of clipping pictures out of magazines/newspapers/etc, you find things you like and “pin” them to your board(s). I have not been wowed by it, but I haven’t spent a lot of time on it.
