We had a lovely weekend. My children were with their father and came back full of just how gorgeous their new puppy is. All very excited about it. Showed me endless photos. It is very cute. My younger son came back feeling ill. He’s got an ear infection, the doctor confirmed today. I wasn’t sure if he was genuine this morning – thought perhaps he had Mondayitis again. The doctor however said his ear looked very painful and aside from a fleeting thought that perhaps he had coloured his eardrum in, I was very pleased I took him to the surgery. He’s now on antibiotics and can’t hear a thing.
Builder Bloke and I went to stay with my brother and sister-in-law. Predictably the baby giraffe took hours to set free from the ridiculous wrapping, but she loved it. My brother cooked a fantastic meal and the four of us managed to get through an embarrassing amount of wine.
After our meal my sister in law tried to teach me to twirl in manner of proper ballet dancer like she is. But I couldn’t – looked ridiculous. Then we all danced about. Madly. For ages. Shortly after 2am we went to bed but my sister in law started to feel really unwell. Her heart was racing at 200 (whats?) per (what?) which sounded pretty high and she couldn’t breath properly. She came in to see us (but we were a little too comatose to be of much use) so she finally woke up my brother and he ended up calling an ambulance! Their daughter woke up. Was very worried. For a six year old she managed to calm everybody down and remain level headed. She offered to dial 999. Stroked her mother’s hair. Told me in the morning she thought she was going to die.
Apparently as her mother went off in the ambulance she asked her “would you prefer to be buried or cremated?”
Anyway, she came back from hospital in the morning and seemed much better. They will have to be monitored her heart for 24 hours so they can work out what is going on.
I hope it wasn’t our fault.
“Pub couple” seems to be our new name.

January 10, 2011Oh dear – not good for a dancer to have such a high pulse rate after twirling. Probably not helped by the drink. Hope she’s OK.

January 10, 2011Think she’s feeling better now. But probs the twirls didn’t help Lx

January 10, 2011Hope she’s ok now (and everyone else is) – could it be an allergic reaction? Sounds a bit similar to my dramatics after a bee sting

January 11, 2011I hope it wasn’t an allergic reaction to me and my strange dancing techniques. Lx
