I am very excited. I now have two second weddings to go to this year. The first is my ex husbands – although I’m not sure I’ll get the invite to that mind you but the second one is a very old friend of mine from school who announced yesterday over a lovely lunch that she and her new partner are getting married. She has four kids from her first marriage. He has three. Luckily for her he has a huge house. Everyone can fit.
There is something very uplifting about second marriages at this stage of my life – the whole second chance thing. Hopefully you can get it right the second time (although I’m not sure the statistics suggest that to be the case) having learnt a lot from all your mistakes the first time round.
She wants me to be bridesmaid and is going to choose me a dress. I hope she’s joking. I can’t be a bloody bridesmaid at my age. Old Maid Of Honour maybe.
