It’s a beautiful Sunday morning and I’m off to church to renounce the devil. Which isn’t a regular occurrence in my household I have to admit, but I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve been asked to be a godmother to a friend of mine’s 4th child. I am already thinking about my moral guidance duties, although hopefully she won’t need any for about 10 years and with any luck I’ll have a better idea by then. My ex husband has been invited too which actually works really well for me because it means that my children will be there in the church and for lunch afterwards. Fantastic.
Just had hideous thought. I really hope he’s not bringing his girlfriend.

July 13, 2008Church? It scares me. I’m not a godmother to anyone and would never accept to be. A Guardian, yes, but nothing religious.
I hope the Ex turned up minus girlfriend ….

July 13, 2008i’m not a godmother either..same reasons as zoe. church doesn’t scare me, it’s just that i don’t believe in organized religion. i have nothing against those who do.
anyways, i mostly wanted to comment on the ex and the gf. hopefully, he’ll be sensitive enough (but i highly doubt it). i’m having my own troubles w my ex and his gf, too. i wrote about my frustration on my blog. my girls came home four weeks early from the visit w their dad. can you guess why? lol

July 13, 2008This may be a very naive and annoying question, but why would it be so awful if the girlfriend was there? Does it just make everything uncomfortable or is that you don’t like seeing your ex with someone else? And if so, does that mean you still deep down have feelings for him and are perhaps a bit jealous. Or is it just because she’s a cow and you don’t like her?

July 13, 2008Nothing like renouncing the devil to set you up for the week, if you ask me!
Hope the girlfriend wasn’t there.

July 14, 2008Not a naive or annoying question – anon – not really sure why I would find it such a problem – probably because I am immensely childish about it all. I would find it difficult but so would the children. They would have been concerned about me (although probably not in reality, but in my head they would have been) and she wouldn’t have known anyone there except for him and kids and it would have all been uncomfortable. Clearly haven’t moved on to that level yet. Lx
