Still way too much to do and yet I’m blogging. Which is the best form of procrastination going.
The man who used to live in my house came to the door this afternoon and asked me if my mummy was in!! How funny. He was clearly either blind or taking the piss. I told my kids and they fell about laughing – the youngest saying “that SO would never happen”.
I have just dropped my children off at their father’s pre his Christmas eve party that many of my friends are going to – I texted a friend pointing out that I was the only one left in the area that was NFI*. He texted back “for some parties NFI is the A list ticket”.
I’ll go over there tomorrow morning and open the presents we bought them together – they love it when we do that all together and I think it’s important where possible to overcome our differences for the sake of the children. They often feel torn when having to be at separate houses and even more this year with all the recent news.
Christmas is such a nightmare for “broken” families. Its customs affirm the family traditions and emphasise that one parent is missing and underlines the separation of their original family: that new people have arrived and that your family will never be the same again.
It’s also hard on the adults, throwing up all those feelings of loss, pain, anger, guilt and rejection. I am going to put on a brave face in the morning and try and be VERY grown-up and I hope for everybody’s sake that it’s going to get easier.

December 24, 2009Hope it all goes well for you all. There has only ever been one parent and one child in my family so I suppose in some ways we are lucky. In other ways not. Merry Christmas and take care x

December 24, 2009I am selfishly delighted that the children have decided to spend Christmas Day with their Mother in me this year. Last year with their Father was not a success.
Have a wonderful time.

December 24, 2009Oh bum, you mean it gets worse?!
All of us together in the same house ALL DAY tomorrow. I want to run away and hide, but as you say, it is all for the children and it will make them happy, as long as I count to 10 a lot!
Merry Christmas to you, even though it will never be the same.

December 26, 2009I hope it went okay and wasn’t too painful….my children are now with their father until tomorrow night.First time they have all gone. I have had lots of invites but it would have been too painful for me to spend the day with other people’s children. I’ve had to pretend that I’ve accepted various invitations so no one knows I would rather spend the day on my own. ( I hate lying to them but it’s for my own sanity)

December 28, 2009How old is your child? Children? Need to know that first as maybe you could just do something really fun with them. I am in a similar situation although luckily have a few other single white females around…it’s going to be very low key I suspect. I’ve decided a peaceful New Year will be a better omen for the 2010 than any wild parties. What about any family members? Need more information! L x

September 13, 2011LOL, I have to say the on-line dating or electronic dating has come a long way from the days of easy chat rooms. A lot more and a lot more people are turning to on the web dating web sites to display likely dates.

September 14, 2011Tip for a Great personal ad – Produce Attraction – Do not just list every little thing you would like in someone but go far more for highlighting your personal characteristics and personality. That way you are more likely to attract your accurate match as like attracts like.
