So. A four day holiday. What a lovely treat. I’ve been making plans, but don’t seem to have actually got very far. Street party? Yes please I’d love to come….but they all seem to be on at different times so not sure which day to go to which street. BBQ’s. YAY. Pageant? Where? Battersea Park? Will it be packed? Raining? Worth it? I sort of feel that really, living in London it would be spectacularly shameful to not dive into the heart of the celebrations. We can all watch it on TV. We can’t all be there….
SO. I am trying to feel Jubilicious. Trying to get in the zone. Well. For a start, isn’t the Queen lucky to be having a party at the height of the Royal Family’s popularity? Remember Annus Horribilis – 20 years ago? Toe sucking, divorce, fire, general dissatisfaction with everyone but Diana….
But it seems that as long as us commoners have a pretty princess to admire all is well. We are to become street party city and the royal family have never been more popular – mainly, I suspect because a whole new younger generation has joined in.
So here we are then. My contributions so far. I haven’t gone as far as bunting yet, but it’s a start:-
Look at these AMAZING biscuits:-

“Jubilicious” Ha! I cracked my first smile of the day when I saw that. And I’ve gone all nostalgic for Pimms. Go watch it in person for me. I’ll be grumpily slumped in front of the telly while my family act all Italian and refuse to join in on the basis the sun is shining and they want to sit in the garden and turn brown(er) so I look even more like a mozzarella when standing next to them.
