GIRLS! I have the perfect solution for how to save money this winter in Austerity Britain. This is a formal request for you all to give up the Brazilian/Hollywood/Cuban/whatever else there is. We have to do it all at the same time otherwise it won’t work and some of us look like throwbacks and won’t ever get a boyfriend again and will be the biggest fashion disaster EVER. But as long as the entire population does it (and no cheating) then it can become the ON SEASON new trend and nobody can complain.

Also if things get really bad we can save all the hair up to knit blankets and small jackets and other warm things when we all have to live in caves. Will be very warm and cosy and with a thin layer of fleece it won’t be too itchy. Would come in various colours too ranging from cream to taupe right the way through to grey and black (OK ENOUGH, I’m feeling a bit ill at the thought).

ANYWAY I am going to start the trend RIGHT NOW. Because I’m bored of all that money going down the drain for very little satisfaction. Firstly I’m too old for all this silliness and secondly it looks awful, thirdly come on be honest, it’s really only for the blokes which isn’t very feminist is it and fourthly you can’t really show it off very much (speaking personally of course) – it’s the same price as a bloody haircut and nobody can see it. WHAT IS THE POINT and FIFTHLY IT HURTS LIKE HELL – you need a general anaesthetic and a day off work just to recover.

STOP NOW.

FOLLOW ME. I’ve made banners – “BRING BACK THE FURRY MUFF” “BRING BACK THE HAIRY GROWLER – ALL IS FORGIVEN” What do you think? You can help me make banners.

Who is coming? (….she says, throwing a pile of hair over her shoulder and walking nobly forward).

Pleeeeeese come x

PS – note to all the beauticians – don’t be cross – you won’t be out of a job – there is still much depilation to do and frankly I am quite sure you will all be relieved not to have to do that job anymore anyway……

I just saw you tweet this link so had to come over! Bravo that woman!

Now I’m here, why haven’t I been here before? There’s lots of my blogging buddies on your side-bar so I think I’ll feel at home here – mum of teenager etc and now, of course, lover of furry muffs.

🙂 you should skip back to the ‘Dubai Cronicles’ Trish, they are very interesting. And the party only starts once Trish is in the house, I’m all excited now 🙂

Sign me up – although I’m assuming razors are still allowed? Wouldn’t want to frighten the children at the pool or anything. In fact, to that end check this out – you may remember it from a while back on tv: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41vdQiAmYYI

I agree – gave up all that when pregnant and can’t be bothered going through the hassle anymore

I am so, so with you on this one! Never been waxed myself, never even considered it and am horrified at the number of people who think it is necessary!

Love the idea of saving all the hair and knitting it into blankets, but surely that would mean removing it from ourselves first and I’m rather against that idea – I’d rather keep my foof warm! 😉

No, no, we just grow it and cut it off – not rip it out x

Thanks, but lets hope it takes off – otherwise it’s going to be a little bit embarrassing – I need Caitlin Moran to back it and then we need to get on to the young ones (who frankly will just see me as a sad old has been hairy muff person) L x

I don’t know where all the hair comes from, I’m forever trimming, plucking, waxing, epilating…it’s an endless task and quite frankly thankless because nobody’s looking at me that closely these days. Don’t you think Hirsute sounds just like Hair-suit it’s the best word ever.
