Caxton FX have just launched a competition amongst parent bloggers to find out how we budget for our family holidays and they are offering a prize of a £500 charged Global currency card to take on your holiday for the winning Top 10 Travel Tips.
So here are my Top 10 Tips for budgeting for my family holiday:-
1. Book flights and hotels well in advance
2. Pack light to avoid putting luggage in the hold
3. Buy small plastic bottles to fill with shampoo, cleanser and so on (under 100mls)
4. Research some cheaper family restaurants away from the tourist strip and book in advance
5. Buy your money early and not at the airport
6. Refuse to buy whole new wardrobes for yourself and your kids – get everything out from last year and be ruthless with new purchases. Essentials only
7. Buy suncream from local supermarkets rather than the hotel when you get there
8. Choose an all inclusive hotel if your children are older – especially if they’re of drinking age – you’ll save a FORTUNE
9. Try and find somewhere where activities are included in the price
10.Best money saving Top Tip whilst budgeting for your family holiday is to leave your children behind – SO MUCH CHEAPER TO GO ON YOUR OWN!! (just kidding).
