OMG Valentine’s Day is looming and I am not happy about it. How AWFUL is all the Valentine’s stuff in the shops all pretty in pink and red? I can’t bear to look at it. This is on account of the fact that I am expecting no love, attention or diamonds this Valentine’s Day – my choice, but that doesn’t really make things any easier.
“The art of life is a constant readjustment to our surroundings”

I like this quote and therefore I am trying to apply it to the supermarket aisles, but it is clearly not working if I still feel like biting someone, so I have made a plan. I have gone for an alternative option and am going to leave the country. Not only that but I am going to really annoy my daughter who is massively in love, by doing the worst thing a mother can do and that is to hang out vicariously with her and her boyfriend…that said, this very annoying behaviour is going to occur in Madrid, which perhaps makes it not as bad???! Seems like a jolly good idea to me and anyway, it was her idea to go, so I hope I’m not going to be tooooo green and hairy (gooseberry).
Anyway, my youngest son is also accompanying us on the trip, together with a group of friends. We are going to see George Ezra play which we are all very excited about. Although we seem to have even failed to get the right amount of tickets as he’s sold out so perhaps in addition to completely annoying my daughter and her boyfriend I will fail to even get us to the concert.
This is really not a good state of affairs to be in at the beginning of 2015. But oh well. Not much I can do about it other than look on the very bright side and be very grateful for my credit card.

February 10, 2015Now that I actually have someone to do Valentine’s day with, you’d think it would be all luff and sauceyness, wouldn’t you? Nope, because it’s me and having managed to grow my own children up and encourage to leave the nest, I also inherited a small boy along the way. It will be 9 years until he is leaving home. bear in mind I have had 23 full on years of parenting now, it will be 32 years by then and I will have lost my mojo/mind by then!!!
