I was working all day on Sunday and subsequently exhausted. My lovely younger brother brought round a curry for us all to eat. We are now all getting excited about their wedding in August. My daughter is going to be a bridesmaid and I’m doing the flowers (gulp) AND a reading so we were discussing the day and proof reading invitations and talking about stuff.
We were looking at different poems. I was talking about the lovely poem my brother and his wife asked me to read at their wedding. We rang him to find out what it is. It’s called “Apache Blessing” he told my brother.
“Can you google it for me?” my brother asked my teenage son.
“No, there’s nothing under ‘A Patchy Blessing'” he said a minute later.
On a totally seperate note, my teenage son is revising for his Geography GCSE tomorrow morning.

– Last year Cyclone Nargis in Burma killed approximately 140,000 people.
How many people know more about Hurricane Katrina and the devastation she caused than the other one. It’s shocking.

As for the blessing, its a really lovely one.
I've heard it read at a few weddings.

June 8, 2009Personally I think that's because the Americans never do anything QUIETLY. Especially disasters.
Whereas the Burmese are quite used to picking themselves up, dusting off and just getting on with it as best they can.
Glad to hear you're feeling better again. Had a bit of a low weekend myself, but it was only a "moment"
