What a week. Things still seem to be going a bit wrong. Even I managed to fall over in the park this week and scrape my hands and knees like a small child (“more like an old person” said my son).
So I bought myself some hairy tulips – in sympathy with my unkempt winter body:-
I took the week off to do lots of fabulous things, but instead I’ve been ferrying my daughter around – not only to Doctor’s appointments but to all her social events given that she can no longer get about very easily. We are still waiting to find out how much damage she’s done to her knee, but here she is looking as gorgeous as ever – she’s been very brave and upbeat about the whole thing – I’m very proud of her:-
She had her MRI scan this morning at 8am … and then we went for some breakfast. I had “folded eggs” – weird – like a bright yellow cowpat, whilst she of course had what every girl her age has to eat every single day of the week for some reason (Instagram?) – avocado in some way shape or form:-
My two boys are on good form – one is supposed to be revising for his GCSE’s and the other is gainfully employed during the week and partying his little socks off during the weekend. I was rather alarmed to read the other day that the average single first time buyer now needs to save up for 13 years to amass a big enough mortgage to buy an averagely priced house in England or Wales. BUT even worse, is that if he wants to stay in London (which he does) he will have to save for 46 years. FORTY SIX YEARS??? You mean he’s going to be living with me until he’s SIXTY NINE??? That is ridiculous. I’ll be dead by then, so at least if he waits that long he won’t have to move out at all. How has this happened in just one generation? How have the over 50 baby boomers managed to do so well and the next lot are so much worse off with university debt and house prices at unaffordable levels with no chance to get the sort of mortgage we managed to get just thirty years ago. OUTRAGEOUS. I might have to think about moving out if he doesn’t….
Still, it’s not all bad when you get to appreciate the sunset, even in the suburbs:-
