The last few weeks have been manic. I feel that I’m running from place to place getting very little done in the middle. I am too busy and not doing anything properly. Trying to fit too much in and consequently not giving enough attention to anything and nothing is coming even remotely to fruition and time is racing on and I have major guilt about my mother who sits too far away from me waiting for us all to come and help her live her life without my father. I wish she was closer.
So then yesterday, a weird thing happened when I got home – I had 10 minutes before I had to go out again to pick up my youngest child from school and I was in the kitchen making a cup of tea and there was a really strange noise on the roof – it sounded like somebody was tiptoeing across it – or maybe a cat or fox sort of pattery feet noise – a kind of quiet rumbling – it freaked both me and the cat out – so I opened the back door half expecting to see somebody running off – I looked up to the sky, in the same direction the cat was looking and then had to clasp my hands together to catch two falling white feathers joined together which floated down just above my head.
That was it. Nothing else anywhere to be seen – and what was even more weird is that when I saw a white feather the other day and thought about my father and then thought, next time I need to see two at the same time so that I can think about both him and my friend Jo at the same time……
Funny old world.

March 4, 2011So many times the white feathers turn up in blogs where there has been a recently departed. So many times. I wish wish wish I had known when my father died and I would have looked.
