Rick Baker and Dave Elsey won an oscar for best make-up in the “Wolfman” film that came out last year which stars Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins and Emily Blunt.
Well obviously they have to share their oscar with a number of incredibly talented make-up and prosthetic artists because you can’t do make-up to that level without a team…..SO GUESS WHAT?
That means that I am proud to announce that MY BROTHER – a brilliantly talented prosthetic artist who previously worked on Holby City and now runs his own company won a little piece of an Oscar at the 83rd Academy Awards by being a key part of the team.

March 2, 2011Oh, wow, how cool! Congratulations on being a part-Oscar-winner’s relative! An achievement indeed. I will also insist (if you don’t mind) on going around for at least today announcing to the world that I know (in a very-roundabout-cyber-higgledy-piggedly-sort-of-fifteen-times-removed way) an Oscar winner. Or bit-of-an-Oscar winner. How fabulous! X

March 2, 2011OF COURSE! You must milk tenuous connection with Oscar winner to full capacity – maybe even for tomorrow as well! Lx

March 2, 2011Wow, brilliant. I guess he will be immediately on the staff for your new film. And great marketing strategy “script almost written by sister of part Oscar winner” careful with font sizes and it will read “script by Oscar winner”.
Family Affairs
March 2, 2011OF COURSE – didn’t think of that. But will now have to change film plot from a rom com to a horror film ….. in our case, just one small step. Lx

March 2, 2011OMG! How brilliant!
BTW have just watched Jamie’s Dream School – after David Starkey’s appaling behaviour as a teacher they’ll be loving the fun prosthetic stuff!
Family Affairs
March 3, 2011I think they really do love the prosthetic stuff – can’t wait to see that bit Lx
