I’ve just come back from an “Auction Of Promises” at my youngest son’s school. I offered a one-to-one session of the exercise I teach (a cross between Pilates and Yoga) as one of the “lots”. I was worried it was going to go for about £7.50 but actually it went for £50.00 which is most respectable. Sadly, a really good friend of mine bid £70.00 for what he thought was a session of deep stretching and strengthening, with me, but unfortunately,(because he was a bit pissed), he successfully bid for the lot before by accident and is now the proud owner of the most expensive shell suit ever. Given it is a local state school they had some fantastic things on offer and ended up raising over £10,000 for a new school kitchen. Brilliant. Parent Power at it’s best. Pissed.
PS: Daughter mortified. Has found picture of me wearing her tutu and is now deeply concerned. I don’t blame her. But I’m a girl. I can’t help it. I love tutu’s.

March 15, 2008I once went shopping with my daughters when they were about 16 and much to my glee saw fairy wings and wands on sale, so picked up a packet. My daughters marched over, grabbed the offending pack out of my hand, told me not to be so stupid and to grow up.
I was the one left feeling mortified 🙁
