After three years of closure, the wonderful Courtauld Gallery has reopened in London. Situated in the stunning Somerset House, on the North side of Waterloo Bridge, on The Strand – it’s a joy to behold.
Their permanent collection contains a number of much-loved masterpieces, including a fabulous array of Impressionist paintings. It’s been completely redisplayed and reinterpreted and includes Van Gogh’s “Self portrait with bandaged ear” and “Peach trees in blossom“:-
As well as Manet’s “A Bar at the Folie-Bergère”
It gives greater insight into this world-leading collection than ever before and is home to a number of Monét’s, Modigliani, Gauguin, Renoir and the most significant collection of works by Cézanne in the UK:-
Well worth a visit and we paid £9 each for entry.
