Half term is proving to be messy. My daughter only got Monday off which was a bank holiday anyway so has to go to school, my teenage son is on study leave rather than half term although frankly you can’t tell the difference….most days he is in the garden lying in the sun, a bit of paper (chemistry? Maths? Can’t tell) lying on his chest, sunglasses on, asleep. Oh well, who am I to assume that there is not all manner of busy stuff whirring about in the clever head of his whilst he dozes in the sun.
The tattoo and naked girl drama turned out to be, well not a drama really at all. I totally blame my younger brother for the tattoo, given that he has a tattoo on his arse that all my children think is very cool (as does his new wife!) and naked girl is a lovely, not really girlfriend, but they’ve been seeing lots of each other and clearly like each other a lot and laugh together and they’re both consenting adults and I really don’t have a problem with being open about sleeping arrangements – WHY do what my parents did and ban me from being with anyone until I was married. That didn’t work. I was just sneaky. Hid my boyfriend under my bed once, that my mother found.
Teenage son showed us his tattoo the night before last when Builder Bloke was round with his three children and it was just funny. We discussed other options for bottoms – you know the “W” on each cheek joke that spells “WOW” when you bend over – we came up with lots of stupid other ideas. Ha ha.
Builder Bloke cooked a delicious meal on the BBQ and all 8 of us sat outside laughing about all manner of stuff, like the fact that his middle son had been grounded for two days in their new house for weeing on the hot sauna coals instead of pouring water on it as instructed. Apparently it caused the entire house to smell revolting. Then BB brought out some champagne and raised a toast to our THREE YEAR anniversary which we were all a little amazed about because I didn’t think that if you had as many break-ups as we’ve had over that period of time that it still counts. Oh well, it was a lovely gesture anyway.

June 4, 2010Ha ha, that approach to revision sounds familiar – I revised for my maths gcse lying in the garden with my letts revise book covering my face 🙂
Congratulations on your anniversary. For what it’s worth, I think you can celebrate it even with all the break ups. My man and I split up numerous times in the first few years we were together (we were still at school at the time), but we are still together 15 and a half years later. So yes, it still counts 🙂

Family Affairs
June 4, 2010Yup. For better or for worse!! You’ve been through it with me over the last few years, so who knows whether it’s the right decision or not. The main thing though is that it feels right at this very moment in time. Lx

June 4, 2010Thanks Saz. Complicated but simple. That’s the truth of it. Yes, was a post just a few down called “It’s Complicated” funnily enough about our recent decision to reunite Lx

June 4, 2010just read your last couple of posts and my head is spinning – you have a lively household that’s for sure! glad the naked girlfriend/tattoo incident turned out well☺ but the kid peeing on the sauna coals…that does sound revolting – maybe the punishment should be to make him sit in the sauna for 5 minutes and take in the lovely aroma!
congrats on your anniversary – and hell – who cares how many breakups in the meantime – never postpone an opportunity to celebrate!
