CAN YOU BELIEVE that last night, during a birthday celebration at a private members club I had my bag stolen. Frankly easy pickings because nobody was looking after their belongings particularly well and because of it being a private club there was no CCTV camera either.

I’m so cross with myself for not taking more care, but really, the club wasn’t very full and I knew lots of people there so its very upsetting and disappointing to have something like this happen.

I haven’t had much help in speaking to anyone about it yet at High Road House, but I’m hoping to do so soon and you never know – perhaps I shouldn’t jump to conclusions – they keep telling me that somebody must have taken it home by accident……hmmm.

I will now be spending the rest of the day cancelling cards and my phone, trying to get a new one and even worse trying to find everybody’s numbers because of course I didn’t back my address book up and my camera, keys etc…….

How very, very, very, very, annoying.

OMG…how on earth could that happen? – especially when you were dancing around it. Presumably. 🙂

Hi there, I came across your blog via Expat Mum ( my 7 year old is ‘helping’ me write and he loves the elephants ..! ) If it makes you feel any better at all I’ve been to High Road House quite a few times, my best friend is a member. I haven’t heard of anything like this going on & the staff are always really nice. How utterly grim and tedious for you. Sorry xx

    Oh poor you.
It is one of the things I dread most happening to me.
I know there are much worse things, but the thought of having to go through that process and also knowing that someone has gone through my bag, which is my little, micro world, just makes me feel sick.
Fingers crossed that some nice passer by, finds it sitting on a park bench somewhere, with its contents intact. x

So that last time you saw the white faux leather clutch it was in the middle of the dance floor. Clearly the green eyed monster got the better of another dancer as you all yelled “I will survive, hey hey hey”.

On a more serious note, what a buggery pain. My life is in my bag, I really should try harder not to carry so much crap around. Did the police care very much?

No not very much – actually they have called and filed a report but there’s not much they can do. More bothered that the club didn’t care very much – but it’s not their problem either. Lx

I hate to sound like a bitch but if you knew all the people there, it sounds like it might have been an inside job. There could be a right old scam going on. I mean, perfect setting really,… no one’s on their guard because everyone’s family right?
