My youngest son was lucky enough to spend two weeks with a friend in Thailand this summer. “My Holiday In Thailand” will hopefully develop a little more over time. He spent it on a monkey and mango farm, north of Bangkok – although as it turns out the monkeys had all left the building and the mangoes weren’t ripe! Turns out there was a lot of rice instead! They spent some time on the farm and some time in Bangkok. I was hoping for an enlightened travelogue of his activities and feelings.
So far, so bad. This is first entry. Hasn’t even added any photos yet. Hopefully he will be back to add some more when he’s stopped catching up with his friends. Not very happy about his extensive use of swear words either, my mother always tried to inform us that swearing was the least descriptive form of the English language and very lazy. When I told him this he disagreed. Said it was important that I left it in his own voice if I was going to ask him to do anything … so here we are then. Oh and need to discuss with him a few more descriptive words other than “nice” as well. I perhaps need to sit down and explain that he needs to think about English as a musical instrument, varying the mood, pace and tempo with devices such as internal rhyme and alliteration…or do you think perhaps he’s not ready for that yet?
The flight was a bit of a mare having to stop off in Dubai for 4 hours, the whole journey was 15 hours. Having arrived at Bangkok airport and it being fucking hot i really shouldn’t of worn tracksuits, we then got a lift to my friends apartment which took about an hour and a half the apartment was in the middle of Bangkok. The view was amazing. The first thing me and the boys did when we got to the apartment was have a very nice swim, we then went to the markets which were very nice, the final thing we did on our first day was we went out for dinner to a very nice restaurant on the river it was called the view very nice food, but ended up with a shit load of mosquito bites.
