HELLOOOOO….long time no blog. Home again. I hope you’ve all had a lovely summer. We’ve been away again, just arrived back today to the most revolting house ever. Why I ever thought I could leave my son in charge I don’t know. My other two children and I arrived back after a long flight early this morning to find a little note written by him welcoming us back. He had at least bought a loaf of bread with the money I’d left him – not milk mind you as he decided that the milk I’d bought him before we left a week ago wasn’t finished or moving so was still acceptable. The remainder of the money I left him for food clearly went on beer, wine and partying.
He was extremely indignant when I complained about the state of the house. Basically we were all stuck to the floor like flies on fly paper when we walked in. The kitchen worktops were worse than usual as he’d attempted to spread the stickiness around a bit with a dirty cloth so all was a smeary mess. The back door lock was broken, the bathroom shower door too and all the floors were brown. There was also no loo paper so we were forced to use the “TOXIC WASTE” loo paper I bought him for Christmas.
“What is the problem” he said, “the plants, the cats and I are all still alive – what more do you want?”….
Well, he has got a point. Nobody died. Perhaps I should be grateful for that and be thankful that the house is still standing.
Here is a photo of our recycling bag on our return – he clearly ate and drank well all week:-
So now it’s all over. Another summer gone and now it’s nearly Christmas and I have to turn the central heating on. School again for my youngest starts tomorrow and I am back to work.
Where did all that time go?
