How typical. Just as I write a post on being single, new research appears to tell us all that if you are married you are less likely to die of cancer. “Men and women who have tied the knot were found to have a 20% greater chance of surviving the disease than single people”.
Great.
I guess it helps to have a significant other support you through something like that. Well. I’ll just have to try not to get cancer then. The only problem is that there is no one to notice if a large angry mole develops on my back. How will I know? I need to buy a mirror with a handle. At the very least at the moment I’ve probably got “two for one” and “10% discount” stickers stuck all over my back. No idea.
If you are married, or with a partner there is always the bonus of having someone around who can look after you if you’re ill. Bring you tea in bed and mop your brow but of course on the downside – as a woman, you may well be the one to do all the brow mopping and certainly a lot of older women are choosing to be on their own rather than have to take up the role of carer.
