It’s a horrible wet May Bank Holiday Monday. I am not having a productive day. My daughter is demanding certain food types to help her revise but is still panicking. Youngest son is doing his homework. The kitten knocked over a vase of water and so I have spent most of the morning clearing my kitchen of water and shards of glass and I hate jobs like that. Nothing achieved whatsoever.
To be honest, I would like to be doing something more interesting. Not sure what. Maybe I should whizz out to join my son in Ho Chi Minh city for a couple of days. Although after the last conversation I had with him there is every chance that he won’t remember who I am if I bumped into him in the street. He and I were talking and then my daughter held up our new kitten and he said “OMG he’s huuuuge now – mum, sorry I don’t mean to be rude but I can’t remember the kitten’s name anymore”.
That is how much thought he’s giving to us and his life in London at the moment. Absolutely none. Which is fine really – just the way it should be. It’s what we all do isn’t it? Move on?
Life. He is certainly out their grabbing it with both hands, feet, body, anything else he can think of and I’m jealous but delighted. What an opportunity. Unencumbered full on fun with your mates for what seems like eternity. Just lovely. I think, as is often the case, that they have found the Thai’s far more friendly and welcoming than the Vietnamese – very different characters. Interesting.
Anyway, back to my rainy wet day and I’m staring out of the window and feeling like I’m in a scene from Dr Seuss’s “Cat In The Hat”. it’s at times like this that it’s good to look around for people less fortunate than oneself.
Today I am very pleased that I am not Carla Bruni.

May 7, 2012I hate standing at the window staring at the rain and wondering why I’m not doing something good with my time. But when I’m doing something wonderful I never stop to think about the people staring out of their windows.
Can you help me with any tips for a holiday in Thailand? I’m not sure what we should do but I know we are going in December to meet up with friends. A north island has been thrown into the mix.

Well we were in the
Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket – Thailand
It does suit big groups or people with children as you don’t have to worry about ruining anyone’s tranquility. Also you are near the Banyan Tree and another which are all in the same laguna. You do feel in the sort of hectic Thailand , as opposed to the tranquil one I think you have to go to Koh Samui for that?
