OH NO. NOT AGAIN. I’m already depressed at the mere thought of my New Year’s resolutions. I could dig out my lists from the last few years and see what I have achieved. Probably very little – if not nothing at all.
Why do we put ourselves through the agony of trying to change our lives knowing that only about 20% of us will stick to our resolutions? For me, I suppose it’s more about being desperate to detox throughout January rather than look at the whole “I really need to change thing”. It’s a line we can draw through the mince pies and bottles of wine – stepping over from the debauched detritus created over Christmas to the other side of clean clear water and vegetables and fresh air of January. However, of course by day two we’ve mostly all had enough of boring new plans and boring old water and want to top ourselves.
I started writing a list the other day but I’ve noticed today that someone has stuck some of Builder Bloke’s new Post It notes on top:-
