I’ve just interviewed Sally Gunnell! She’s just told me all about an amazing new competition for families. Royal Caribbean International have just launched a search for their very own “Royal Family to win a host of amazing experiences throughout 2014 including a 7-night holiday in the Caribbean on board Oasis of the Seas in February 2014, an invitation to the launch of the newest ship Quantum of the Seas in the autumn of 2014 and a family day on board Independence of the Seas in summer 2014.
She is going to be on the panel of judges, together with a some mum bloggers so I asked her a few questions about what they will all be looking for in the winning family:-
What sort of family are you looking for?
An incredible family who have never cruised before to become the ‘Royal Family’ and official Royal Caribbean International ambassadors for 2014. Ideally an active family, with a mixture of ages all with the desire to use all the facilities onboard. A family that want to try the FloRider, the ice-skating, Surfing, golf, basketball, swimming pools, the sports facilities, the shows, the games rooms as well as go on some of the excursions. The opportunities are endless for families.
I understand the new ship will have some additional experiences?
Yes, it sounds amazing – there is going to be a skydiving Ripcord and a pod that you can get in to view the stars – oh and not to forget about the bumper cars.
How do the excursions work?
They’re just amazing – whenever you dock somewhere there are around 25 different things you can choose from to do, ranging from getting off the boat and walking around the port to an all day trip somewhere, to snorkelling, diving, a tour of the city – loads of stuff.
How old are your three children?
My kids are 8, 12 and 15 so the perfect ages to get the full benefit of all that the ships have to offer.
How safe do you feel onboard with your children?
I have never felt so safe before – the ships are so well designed for families and children can go up in the lifts on their own to different floors or to their different activities. It was great.
So how do we enter?
To be in with a chance to win, families simply need to visit www.facebook.com/royalcaribbeanuk and post, in no more than 150 words, why they believe they should become the Royal Caribbean International ‘Royal Family’ along with a picture of their family. As an added incentive, Royal Caribbean is offering the first 20 families to enter the competition via facebook the chance to attend an exclusive preview of DreamWorks latest 3D film Turbo on Sunday 13 October 2013 in London.
How long have we got?
Entry to the competition will close on 13 October 2013 with three finalists and their families invited onboard Independence of the Seas in Southampton for the day to film their experiences. The finalist will then be selected by votes from Royal Caribbean international’s UK Facebook fans combined with a panel of experts including Olympian and mother of three, Sally Gunnell and mum bloggers including The Mum Blog, Café Bebe, Are We Nearly There Yet Mummy?, Little Mummy and Sticky Fingers. For full terms and conditions visit www.facebook.com/royalcaribbeanuk
