Happy Chinese New Year to you all or “Gung Hei Fat Choi” as they say in Chinese. I miss Hong Kong at this time. When growing up there Chinese New Year was SUCH an exciting time. Red and gold shiny envelopes with brand new Lucky money inside, Dragon dances, all the colours, the festivities….

So now we move into the year of the Rabbit:-

Principal Qualities: Discreet, prudent, honest

Principal Defects: Easily offended, egotistic, sometimes pedantic

Work: Serious & persevering.

Best role: Friend, no one can equal him

Worst role: Reveller

Money: Prudent where necessities are concerned, otherwise spendthrift.

Luck: To be born in the summer. Then he will be more serene and less cold.

Cannot live without: A home port

Adores: Intimate gatherings round a fire while the storm rages outside.

Hates: being forced to make a decision or to take sides, extreme or conflicting situations & difficult choices.

Leisure activities: Enjoys everything as long as he is not responsible for it’s organisation or direction and does not have to take risks. Do not take him on an expedition without a first aid kit.

Favourite places: Nocturnal and silent paths, preferably near his home.

Plant: Fig tree

Professions: Philosopher, diplomat, administrator, politician, priest. Can function in all roles except a frontline fighter.
