It is generally with a little bit of a sinking heart that I read the above Twitter posts from some of the people I follow – don’t get me wrong, I’m delighted for them, but my Twitter week’s always seem a little different.

More like how I didn’t do on Twitter this week….:-

How I Did On Twitter This Week

25 people unfollowed me
10 tweets sent out – several of them quite funny, one with a new hashtag, but no response and no re-tweets
Nobody mentioned me
3 new followers but all about helping me increase my Twitter followers
If nobody mentioned me then I assume my reach was 0
LOTS of time spent trying to work harder to engage (well, 10 minutes on the train) – can’t expect people to pay attention to you if you don’t have time to reciprocate – I did LOTS of RT’s but no thank you’s for those and my timeline then looked quite boring
LOTS of time wasted reading things I don’t want to read
I am clearly following far too many people to keep up but don’t want to be rude by unfollowing in case they have that app and are really upset.

I have reached the conclusion that I JUST DON’T GET IT.

Is it just me or is this platform just so chockablock that it’s impossible to be heard unless you say something outrageous?
